let’s work together
movement study by mime artist étienne decroux
I offer
3 session possibilities
60 minute — $100
75 minute — $120
90 minute — $140
my training is grounded in therapeutic massage, an interdisciplinary and client specific approach to bodywork rooted in foundational understandings of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and kinesiology, as well as subtle energy and intuition.
the goal of therapeutic massage is to understand your body’s history and objectives in order to formulate a treatment plan specific to you as an individual.
together, we work to explore what form your session will take and what modalities we will draw upon to best serve your goals.
client feedback is welcome at anytime before, during, or after sessions !

listed below are modalities and techniques I commonly draw upon during sessions. the nature of my work is emergent and intuitive, meaning I move in and out of modalities and techniques fluidly and in response to the given moment.
-
deep tissue massage is utilized with the intention of relieving chronic muscle tension, decreasing pain and improving mobility.
this therapeutic approach targets deep layers of muscle and connective tissue through the employment of slow and deeply intentional pressure.
feels like:
slow, targeted touch
deep release
realignment
heat producing
-
less specific in focus than deep tissue, swedish massage promotes both physical and mental relaxation via long, smooth strokes across broad areas of the body.
benefits of swedish massage include increased circulation (blood & lymph), decreased muscle tension, and improved sleep.
feels like:
flowing
relaxing
rhythmic
warming
-
unlike deep tissue or swedish massage, myofascial release specifically targets fascia - the connective tissue that supports underlying muscle, bone, and organ tissues.
the objective of this modality is to release fascial adhesions that restrict movement and cause misalignment, via stretching and elongation of tissues.
feels like:
stretching & opening
deep release
skin-on-skin, no oil !
foam rolling, but way better ;-)
-
a technique that employs site-specific ischemic pressure aimed at releasing trigger points - more colloquially known as a muscle “knot”.
commonly employed in treating sciatica, muscle spasms, back pain, neck & shoulder pain.
feels like:
pointed & sustained pressure
“working out a knot”
often described as a “hurts so good”
-
the slow, gentle pulling of joints and muscles with the intention of sustained manual decompression.
this technique can improve flexibility and range of motion in joints.
feels like:
decompression
elongation
spaciousness
floating
-
the application of static or rhythmic pressure to muscle groups, often with the palm of the hand.
improves circulation, releases tension, increases oxygen to tissues while flushing metabolic waste.
feels like:
grounding
settling
a nice way to remind the brain that we have a physical body
-
as its name suggests, assisted stretching involves a practitioner manually guiding a client’s body through targeted stretching.
assisted stretching can increase mobility and flexibility, improve posture and facilitate circulation while offering a deeper stretch than you can achieve on your own.
feels like:
opening
realignment
a luxury, to relinquish the chore of stretching unto another !
